Vagabond - Vol. 38 Ch. 327 - The Man Named Tadoki

@BoILeRuSS Ah not a fan of sports manga? Would definitely recommend Slam Dunk -- it's arguably the best sports manga out there

Vagabond - Vol. 38 Ch. 327 - The Man Named Tadoki

@BoILeRuSS, yeah and given that it's been 5 years now, I don't know if it'll ever come

Vagabond - Vol. 38 Ch. 327 - The Man Named Tadoki

Gotta have that historic duel at the very least

    Bungo - Vol. 7 Ch. 67 - Free Pass

I was liking this more and more but the "this is the highest quality fastball I've ever seen" remark from Shimokawa is off-putting. That doesn't make much sense to me tbh

Diamond no Ace: Act II - Vol. 24 Ch. 214 - Initiative

Zono actually being reliable? Tears in my eyes

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~

@AegisVD, the chapters after volume 39 haven't been released in volume form yet, so volumes 40-42 don't exist yet.

Diamond no Ace: Act II - Vol. 24 Ch. 213 - Vision

I do feel like the 'material' on Sousei has dried out now. Ideally we get a quick sweep in a couple more chaps

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~

@Ryudana it's just been on a break for 4-5 weeks but still ongoing (at least officially)

    Bungo - Vol. 7 Ch. 64 - Stupid Dream

It's like the author recognizes cliches and asspulls, and so is trying their best to strike the balance between making it hype and yet keeping it realistic.

    Blue Lock - Vol. 8 Ch. 65 - A Prank of Fate

@WillLi But how does "retard" preserve any inkling of the "you're trash at football" sense of the original word when the only connotation it has is one of cognitive impairment?

    Blue Lock - Vol. 8 Ch. 65 - A Prank of Fate

@WillLi I said it refers to the person being bad at football and you're saying it means the person being laughably bad at football. Not sure what's the huge difference here but ok, perhaps my comment did not get the degree of 'shittiness' across. That being the case, please enlighten me on how...

    Blue Lock - Vol. 8 Ch. 65 - A Prank of Fate

@Rhinoceros that's, uh, just false. It's present in almost every shounen and is nonchalantly and jokingly used between teammates as well. It just means to be unskilled, so in this context refers to the other person being bad at football.

    Bungo - Vol. 7 Ch. 63 - One Pitch

Aight I was able to rationalize the decision last chapter but all pitches down the middle is a terrible decision.

    Bungo - Vol. 7 Ch. 62 - Pitching Change

Most definitely irrational, but I think it's realistic for Yoshimi's reason to be: "even if he fails, I won't feel any regrets" because there would always be a "what if" in his mind given what he's seen of Bungo. Meanwhile it seems clear to everyone in the stadium that the Suzuki Satou lads are...

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 42 Ch. 413 - The Curtain Rises

@YesEvil yeah I mean the bracket in this chap is basically saying that Busou needs to beat every relevant school (Saijou, Akagi, Fukuoka) in order to win the tournament, which is the standard shounen strategy in the tournament that the main school wins. I was honestly a bit surprised when I saw...

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 42 Ch. 413 - The Curtain Rises

@Blu7 yeah not sure what happened with the brackets honestly. Author seems to have changed a couple of things from 404

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 38 Ch. 374 - Silently Seething

@keenan11 that credits page is from when they were kids back in elementary. Don't know if Yuuto will make the NT in the future or not, but that image is definitely not representative of the future plot

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 37 Ch. 365 - News

@YesEvil that is true. I was thinking while writing that comment that surely there are amazing fullbacks in youth teams too. And Lenon was definitely at home with the players of the high school NT, so that just might be his current ceiling.

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 37 Ch. 365 - News

@granco Ryuu tried out for a selection of the best Japanese high schoolers (which Lenon was also of course a part of). But Tatsuhiko and Lenon are together also part of the Japanese youth national team, which doesn't care if you play for a high school or a youth team (like the Reds).

    BE BLUES ~Ao ni Nare~ - Vol. 35 Ch. 346 - A Beautiful...!

@kurobaraito feel like that's more Koumei (usually). As someone pointed out earlier, Busquets is a better analogy I think, although the long ball isn't something he'd typically do
