Okay, this is getting a little ridiculous. Does every guy have to be infatuated with her? This is like, the second guy. What's even the point? She's not even that pretty or charming, and he obviously hasn't taken time to get to know her. He must be desperate.
"He stole my first kiss!" she says, after first stealing his*.
*in the game, which was the entire reason he started messing with her in the first place??? Is her memory just that short?
The thing that makes this story is how much he sees himself in her. Despite their different situations in life, there are so many parallels in the struggles they've both had to face.
Yo, I'm loving the archaic vocab. Really lends a flair to the dialogue. And the ecci stuff is surprisingly non-fanservicey for this type of series. I'm excited to see where this will go!

I'd like to add a clarification. Judaism as a religion was consistently monotheistic, but the Jewish people in practice were not. Despite "Don't serve gods other than YHWH" being the first commandment, they worshiped a lot of other gods until after the Babylonian exile...
Nice bait and switch. With this kind of setup, the expected concept would have been poorly executed, but this...this is just stupid enough to feel like something that might happen in real life.
I love it.
