I don't believe it was axed because the LN also already ended last year. I don't read the LN so I don't know whether this is the same ending but it seems like the author ran out the idea too write in the past few arcs and he just decided to end it.

@Gunny The magazine chapters are all censored but they will be uncensored in tankoubons (there's no equivalent vocab in english, so you can think it's as the official released book). The raw of this chapter seems to come from the magazine version since the latest book hasn't been released yet.
