MC is more relatable than I remember when I tried to read this a while back. Not speaking to anyone for a few weeks sounded great, but then quarantine called my bluff.
Why? Bc that's how abusers work, this dude is such a manipulative asshole. I just know they're gonna fall in love too 🤮 Just once, I want one of these stories to be how the girl breaks out of the cycle of abuse and starts to live her own life.
Somehow this managed to be both an interesting world and filled with cliches at the same time. The ending was underwhelming compared to the beginning, as a lot of the character work was abandoned for PLOT TWISTS. A mixed bag that could've been better, but...

This arc really illustrates that neither Il nor his brother was really a good fit to be king, They both had such deep flaws and I LOVE IT because OF COURSE they did, they're human. Just really excellent character writing
