The point is that the author is making the (Japanese) media so cartoonishly one dimensionally evil that it makes the friggin' Caligula of the story...
God, I want to keep enjoying this setup (even ignoring that it's still ludicrous for the JSDF to be this militarily active), but the writer's constant rightwing interjections and media demonization is just tiring.

They said the first week or so of September, and I believe them. Several of the manga I was tracking (sometimes with a VPN) like Beastars and Killing Bites and even Case Closed/Detective Conan were blocked worldwide, so the process has definitely begun.
