I am guessing the author couldn't find a good place to introduce Aki's feeling during the first 5 chapters, but still wanted to have it already in place, either that or it's not going to affect the story for now... still I agree is kinda weird to introduce something like that in an extra ^^...

@Epsilon04. I don't know how it actually ends, but going by the table of contents of the second volume from both the LN and the first manga, the last chapter of the later "White Album" is the third-to-last chapter in the former, so I am gonna guess that the third and final volume of the 4-koma...
