What war is this foreshadowing? The Russo-Turkish War? The Crimean War? Those are the two that come to mind but I'd appreciate a history buffs input. Oops, I guess if I had just read a little more I would have figured out it's probably the Russo-Turkish War of 1877.

It will be interesting when Walter meets his brother again and realizes how much the isolation/interactions with Alice have caused him to mature. It will be a nice foil I think.
