I think the Prince paid them to do so; he was selfish enough to pin for a small noble with no backing that clearly isn't into him.... idk looks like both him and his father are weirdos.
Other than that, the fact that this wasn't reported to the King is the biggest bs ever
The knights already hate her anyway, all they do is badmouth her... imo as long as she keeps a good relationship with the maids and other servants the knights can pound sand.
Is chilling how she's using his lack of affection to wrap him around her finger so easily; considering how she was a fool in the past as well, the King really screwed up raising the heirs to the throne....
Remember the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater"? If he was capable of betraying her once, she would spend the rest of her second life expecting him to do it again because in the end is a moral issue that makes people cheat so yeah is pretty much over for them.
Yeah is always easy to judge and talk about ifs with a full stomach, a warm bed and a roof... that's the whole point of privilege, you have to put effort into looking on perspectives different than yours.
She clearly needed the reality check.
