Take the cheque, take a photo of it with the fake authors signature, and uses it to further prove online that the book was stolen and they're attempting to pay you off. Extra plus points if you have an audio recording of the fake author telling you that the cheque was to buy your support.
Would have been that much better if he did it with his real sword. "Wow, they must have such great healing magic for that examiner to let me chop him in two! I better perform basic first aid to reattach his two halfs while we wait for the experienced healers to finish healing him"
I'm amazed how loyal these servents are still seeming. I was expecting a shadowed evil smirk near the end of the chapter, and his real body to be missing.
You would think he would at least stalk her enough to realize his actions are negatively effecting her. Even if the reason for his stalking is keeping other bad people, or the cops, away.
How poorly does their mom treat them that they thought she wouldn't say anything ahead of moving? Why quit a job immediately, instead of just giving them forewarning that at some point you're apparently moving, but you haven't been told anything concrete yet, etc. Their plans sound like they're...

Don't get why he didn't just user her own powers to control her mushrooms; sure, she has more experience with it and closer to the problematic mushrooms, but it should have been enough to deal with the immediate problem.
@DexDK his defect allows him to ignore his programming, she doesn't have the defect. The vampire is supposedly her current master, therefore she is forced to protect and obey him (I would guess thats why the vampire knew what changes should be performed on MC, as she would also have these...
