@isengard007 her returning all of the money does sound like the ending this manga is going for (after the anime ends, volume sales drop and the editorial department doesn't cancel the manga, but gently urges him to end the story and "aim for greater heights")
Maybe the author is stretching it as much as he can because season 2 of the anime is coming out next year. also...the volume sales are probably really high in Japan. if it ain't broke don't fix it
I feel like the character that had the most complete and impactful story was Kido's first girlfriend, Kotobiki Yuri. Chapter 40 hit like a sledgehammer, and it was great to see her mature and grow up and find herself. I wasn't sold on Emiru...it just doesn't feel right to me, although I can tell...
