Honestly, I hope he doesn't reach his goal. I want him to realize how strong Ippo really is. I also want ippo to actually spar him and overpower him because I dislike the pedestal they have placed him on
This was probably my least favorite fight in the serious :/ Something about geniuses rubs me the wrong way, the feel cheap. Like say if Wali puts in as much effort into training as the average boxer he would be unstoppable according to the way he was written, he could learn any boxing technique...
Idk if it's just me but I dislike 'genius' characters in this manga. They just feel to over the top. Like I get being raised in the jungle with monkey's equates to animal like instincts, athleticism, and great arm strength. But to just pull out flicker jabs and smashes, high level techniques...
If Mashiba went up a weight class I feel like thats opening up the possibility that Miyata might move up to Super Featherweight (Jr. Lightweight here) and then doesnt have to fight Mashiba, but I dont know
For once I completely agree with Takamura. They need to get the shit in fucking order, I seriously can't take anymore gag or bad losses from Aoki and Kimura. I feel like the A-class tourney will seriously be their last chance for redemption for a long time... Morikawa please... im begging you here
@Koal
I believe it was mentioned in the anime, it really was Sawamura's only background and connection so I'd honestly be surprised if they did leave it out. I just finished the Miyata vs Randy fight
The longer the fight lasts, the worse the outcome looks for Miyata. Sadly, Randy hasn't shown anything like his switch stance, and Miyata hasn't throw an upper, so I have a feeling that the bell will ring at the start of the next chapter and save randy long enough to recover and do some damage...
For a second I actually wondered if Randy was catching up and then it hit me all at once that Miyata is lulling him into a false sense of security in order to hit the perfect punch
Exactly as I had assumed in the previous chapters, they aren't even real, serious boxers anymore. They say they have dreams, but then all their fights are draws or losses that end in a gag. Like seriously? A full page spread of Aoki running away?? Thats not even a funny gag considering all the...
I agree @Koal Aoki and Kimura as characters have really tanked and what was a serious boxing manga with a few jokes here and there mixed in with proper training arcs, have now turned into big matches against the "worst matchups" and Aoki and Kimura who were higher ranked boxers before now lose...
@Koal what do you mean? Sawamura's whole backstory is tied with Sendo! They fought as delinquents and Sawamura's teacher begged Sendo not to, and then told Sendo about Sawamura's backstory. Sendo also visited Sawamura in the hospital
