One issue with this whole plot is that death seems to affect the soul who's in the body with one type of swap but the original owner otherwise. It's very contrived.

Why is there a female division? If this were regular combat I might get it, but they're fighting with magic and summons etc. The small advantage of physical strength given by gender is small compared to that.

How very odd that in each category (combatants VS support) the females are the weakest ones. I guess Abe no Seimei was the exception?
