I love this manga. That said, for how wonderful it's messages about gender and attraction are, it's very explicit about only drawing "straight" relationships (Sauro/Nyono, Lloyd/fem!Eric, now male!Rei/Nyonyo). Basically it talks a lot, but doesn't show it much.

Definitely recommend reading the sequel since it was actually published long before this "prequel". This is more like a side story giving context to events in the main story (Majo no Geboku to Maou no Tsuno). The first few chapters will reveal it all.

@DANDAN_THE_DANDAN Sure! I know Otome is quite different from typical shoujo, and may even include BL vibes that would turn off someone looking for a pure girl-guy romance story. At the end of the day, more options to help people find what they want is a good thing. If there is a subgenre...
I expected this kind of response considering it's niche within a niche! However, I think works that 1)comprise a significant part of a genre and 2) drastically transform that genre into something beyond what a normal reader might expect should be considered for tagging. Like I said, Omegaverse...
