@comeonnow0 The only person in his class he seems to be taller than is Chii, so yeah, he's on the shorter side, though probably not as far off of the average height for his age as Yamada is.
@Giggleplex There's a volume 3 extra that for some reason hasn't been properly translated/posted...
@Cesarean-Pizza He's not clueless, he's just insecure and terrified of making that leap of faith and potentially getting hurt, so he finds excuses to not make a move. In chapter 49 he lands on "well, she's also really touchy-feely with her girl friends, so maybe she's just put me in that zone."...
It's a little sad that Ichi's so afraid of getting his hopes up regarding his chances with Yamada at this point that he can't even bring himself to self-insert into his fantasy of Yamada having a boyfriend (though I guess the hair on the guy is kind of Ichi-ish with it mostly covering the right...
@Vini nah, I don't think this is going to end when they're Officially Together, there's at least as much material to be made about a socially awkward manlet in a relationship with an 11/10 goofball as there is to be made about them getting into said relationship. I think Norio's said this manga...
Yamada radiating such massive "that's bullshit and you know it" energy with that "so you don't want anything to change?" panel.
I also love onee-chan unknowingly (at first, anyway) inflicting such critical damage to his remaining lines of defense against the realization that Yamada feels the...
Ichikawa's shirt not being buttoned properly is a nice touch, because of course you're going to make mistakes when putting clothes on your crush who is passed out from fever drunkness while you yourself are being overwhelmed with a mix of terror from not being sure if he's going to be okay...
I get the vibe that sensei letting Yamada off the hook there was less because he actually bought Ichikawa's argument and more because his teacher's instinct of "reward the quiet kid for actually talking" overrode his desire to catch/punish someone for a victimless crime.
The way we're meant to read it is probably just "she wants an excuse to keep coming to the library" but in light of this chapter also causing both of them to realize just how bad they had it for each other I do wonder if another reason why Yamada decided to start doing her homework and study in...
The rest of the chapter is what takes up most of the attention, but a minor thing I like here is Kobayashi's "no, really, you don't need to bother" line. Feels like she's being notably meaner/more direct towards Pickup-pai after being duped by him way back in chapter 21.
@clfp2509 I think Moe would have played things out at least a little differently in this chapter if Yamada had looped her in on the progress they've had in the past ten chapters. I'm pretty sure that Yamada still thinks she's doing a good job keeping her feelings hidden from the world while...
@So-chan Moe wants to be a basic bitch but she's too good of a girl to fully commit herself to the bit. Which is, of course, probably the reason why she fell in with/fits in well with Yamada's circle of friends in the first place.
@Jeikobuappu She destroyed any chance she had to get with Pickup-pai, basically. She means "flag" in the visual novel/dating sim sense, I'm pretty sure- like, when you make a choice that gets you closer to a certain character it sets a programming "flag" in the game that you did that thing...
@ArgonDorn Yamada will be fine with it, Ichikawa's worry is what onee-chan's going to think when she realizes that he bought it to give to Yamada, which will be made even worse because it will probably happen via her seeing Yamada proudly displaying it. Right now she seems to think that they're...
"We're a bit similar" is a hell of an evolution from the "we're from completely different worlds" attitude he was displaying as recently as the date chapters.
It's another few chapters before he acknowledges it but this is really the point where he starts to believe that he actually has a chance- he spends the whole chapter thinking about what the Proper Things To Do on a date are.
I guess this is a hindsight thing but I don't get how anyone would be surprised that the manga doesn't go further down the "Ichikawa wants to kill people" chuuni path when it's flagrantly obvious even from the first chapter that the whole bit is just a coping mechanism for his social anxiety in...
