GPU folding gets you a lot of points in comparison to CPU folding, but GPU folding tends to be a heavier(or at least larger) work load, thus more heat produced and power consumed. For example with my setup... CPU (Intel Core i7 3930K) = 5-8k per WU GPU (nVidia GTX 1080 Ti) = 85-100k per WU
