There's 2 illness problems, one with sailors in long travel and the other with the foreseen communicable disease from foreign populations due to increase in trade traffic(refugees of war in the OG story).
They don't really have to explain it now because they can just show it in action in a few chapters(which unfortunately is measured in months). I assume the other cut is also just to heighten the drama when it first becomes relevant.
I don't think the Iron Hammer folks are necessarily too smart. It's just con men recognizing a con. And if plague mask guy actually was a doctor at some point then he'd be able to tell blood from sap even if he doesn't prescribe to germ theory.
I don't think the explanation for why the boys club is valuable was linked to demon snek meat. Maybe if it was from a region that's normally inhospitable to humans but their club research made it accessible. They aren't the monhun club who struck down the beast.

She'd have to understand the mechanics of a nuke somewhat for the gnome to work with. For the guns she's actually seen them disassembled and has experience firing because she was such a milota she took a trip to Guam so she can play with guns.
Get your ass whooped with magic? Down with the Magiocracy! What if we also dismantle other forms of classism like the noble/commoner divide? Of course not, commoners get to be inferior because I benefit from that class structure thank you very much.
Well S(he) seems to have already adventured before and decided she's too OP and could significantly destabilize the world (as in using her full powers would mess up the elemental balance) so she switched to nudging people around to fix problems with a reasonable power level.
