In which Matsuri's not-romantic feelings for Soga escalate breaking down while confessing how much he needs him. (He even does the dramatic first-name use!) I don't know whether Yabuki is skirting the line between friendship and romance to warm readers up to Matsuri falling for with Soga, get...

@Tomzai: It's kind of the point of the manga to obfuscates which is the "gay" end. (Though if you just mean any end where Matsuri stays female, then fine.) @alacaelum: Multi-shipping is the way. (Ninokuru is best girl?)

I think this was the most character-heavy and eventful chapter yet. Fingers crosses Reo hits things off with Lu and (especially) Yayo, and that Suzu's training arc pays off.

@MangaMonger: For Matsuri, the biggest embarrassment isn't being seen by his male senpai in lingerie, it's being seen without the fundoshi he considered part of the exorcist ninja uniform.

@Smileyguy: Boku Girl was quick to show the protagonist being a girl as better for everyone. Mizuki becoming male again even temporarily was to show they wanted to be a girl instead of accepting they had to be a one, and that being female was not the be-all and end-all of Mizuki's feelings for...

@TrumanHanson117: Changing physical sex isn’t the same as changing gender (identity). It shouldn’t flip everything, but logically it could put anyone who wasn’t gay before somewhere on the bisexual spectrum. Anyway, Matsuri’s 15 and only showed attraction to one person. How can we be sure he...

Before the end, Suzu seemed relatively OK with the idea of Matsuri deciding to stay a girl, even if she finds him more attractive as a male. I can't tell if she changed her mind more because seeing Matsuri dressed up all girly made her uncomfortable, or because she sees Soga as a romantic rival...

@NinjaGoemon: Matsuri just cannot conceive of dating Suzu as he is now, even after his grandpa and Soga encouraged him to. What’s it gonna take to get through to him?

    Ayakashi Triangle

I’m saying there are many manga where that happened, not that it will happen here. And putting aside the arbitrary effects of a magic transformation, being in love with a girl doesn’t prevent you from also being attracted to boy.

I like when fantasy manga use more obscure yokai, and Chirizuka Kaiou is a pretty good pull.

    Ayakashi Triangle

@Treswimming: As we discussed before, in manga about a male turned female persistently, possibly permanently, them getting a male love interest is very common.

    Ayakashi Triangle

@MildrinthLongtime: I figure at the very least they end the series in a positive place relationship-wise, and just leave the rest to our imaginations.

Suzu's jealousy has gone from a running gag to an in-series goal. It's juvenile and kind of mean, but Yayo trying to get Matsuri a boyfriend is very amusing to me. That was a pretty off-hand way to learn animals can turn into ayakashi. I wonder how that happens, or if the same could happen to...

@Raydnt: Perhaps it's a split personality, perhaps this entity merging with her is what turned her into an ayakashi medium.

KimoOta, Idol Yarutteyo - Vol. 3 Ch. 38 - Disgusting Otaku Is Being Threatened? (Part 1)

@papergears: A lot of jobs in Japan technically give you a lot of time off (for instance, paternity leave), but workplaces put enormous pressure on basically everyone not to use most of it. Someone using all their personal days is basically a sign they don't care about advancing their career or...

KimoOta, Idol Yarutteyo - Vol. 3 Ch. 38 - Disgusting Otaku Is Being Threatened? (Part 1)

@cyclopropone: That's notable (and something I hadn't checked out so far), but not definitive. Japanese pronouns don't always correspond to gender in the way people expect English ones to. For instance Big Mom from One Piece also uses ore, and she's definitely not male in any sense.

KimoOta, Idol Yarutteyo - Vol. 3 Ch. 38 - Disgusting Otaku Is Being Threatened? (Part 1)

@NinjaGoemon: It's actually been very vague what gender Yoko/Yosuke consider themselves. It's nice for that be to addressed somewhat, but another character insisting they "prove" their gender is not great. Not to mention "violent hatred of men" as a comedic quirk is at the very least incredibly...

Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to - Vol. 4 Ch. 53 - Fabiniku Ojisan and Implication

I'm pretty sure the memories were being altered to keep Tachibana from realizing he already loved Jinguuji when they were both male. Anyone else have a different guess?

    Leo x Leo - Oneshot

@Ritsuaka: Officially, it's "Reo x Leo". It's a bit of wordplay on how Reo's name is spelled differently in Japanese depending on when he's male or female. When he was male, it was spelled with the kanji for "lion"; arguably it should be romanized "Leo" (which won't affect the pronunciation in...
