I don't get how this manga is popular. Writing is just childish, full of plot holes and dumb reasoning. I't so unrealistic that it's absurd, I guess it's pretty common for shounen manga, but this things tries to wear 'Mature' tag like a kid wearing dad's suit.

One glaring problem with Kodama's claims is that he assumes that 'This Man' takes hostages, which he doesn't and there's no reason to do so. For some reason no character found that to be odd.

that's some BS science. as far as I know, the only way scientists could predict to any meaningful degree a GRB is if we had knowledge about star evolution to such extent that we could make accurate predictions based on observations of stars that could potentially release GRB from dangerous, but...
