Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@Kireato Well, @sssr already said the gist of what I was going to say, but let me expand a little in it: Your point hinges on 5 assumptions: 1) All demons are born equal or close enough 2) All demons in general will have the same experiences in a certain ammount of time 3) All demons in...

Toaru Majutsu no Index - Vol. 25 Ch. 153 - Attack

Well, Acqua is, in his mind, trying to save he world of a teenager with a ungodly power in is right arm and definitely not enough good sense to use it properly. So, for the sake of the world, he wants to remove it. That is quite a @ssholish thing to do, but atleast he is not a villain for the...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@Rift Sorry for the long essay. I tend to be ... long winded ;) when I start elaborating on my arguments :P That said, what this chapter hints to is that Flamme was somehow aware that atleast some Demons could , not only conceive that someone could limit their output, but that could detect it...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@zanonyn First, nothing of what I said had anything to do with them being beings like us ( ok, shouldn't have used the word "animals" .I used it as in "animated" . Will use creature from now on to avoid confusions ). Taking that aside, the point I wanted to say with that first quote you made of...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@zanonyn Again, it was not me that stated that demons were animals that evolved to prey on humans. It was stated in universe as the truth ( now, if it is the truth or not, we still have to see ). I just pointed out that this made that demons were bound by the same evolutionary pressures than...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

Ok, took far too long to reply ... now I have 3 more people to reply to :P @qwyxivi You are right ... but in the end, that is the point. Sometimes it is better to curbstomp ... sometimes, not always. But the demons are stated to be stuck in the always. Using your analogy, if you have a lot of...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@tblst Well, to start, RL animal societies that follow the model the author propose for demons ( say, our close cousins the chimpazees ) have a very diferent view on that: powerful individuals in the top of the chain for sure flaunt their strength ( in fact in the end of their lives they end up...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

@killercool @imahuman The text says that they can't , not me. I understand the reasoning Flamme gives after ( basically fat orc rules skinny orc , so there is not point in fasting ) and it actually makes some sense ( some human rich people actually like to not flaunt their riches and power, so...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

That was savage, Frieren ;) That said ... the author says in one chapter that demons can't limit their mana just after a chapter when 3 demon captains were said to be limiting their mana? Hum ... either there was a mistranslation or the author slipped a bit.

Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 12 Ch. 74 - Human Principles

The forecast for the next chapter is sunny with a high chance of bromance between Scipio and Hannibal ;) @ zanonyn Yeah, since Cannae this manga has been going faster and faster. Not sure it is just the author wanting to get to ( in his opinion ) the good bits or if he got a friendly reminder...

Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 12 Ch. 73 - Older and Younger Brother

@BirchJuice From what I could gather, the Gaul support was pretty much what could be expected: enthusiastic after Hannibal proved he could beat the Romans by himself, not so solid after Hannibal gone south and some legions dropped by ... The greeks in the south also helped as much as it was...

Golden Kamuy - Vol. 26 Ch. 255 - Sugimoto the Ripper

@dsid2814 That is ... debatable :/ In the end it is just a matter of amateurs vs professionals: you can say whatever you want about professional work, but professional work is reliable ... it might be reliably bad or good, but atleast it is of a more consistent quality than the one that comes...

Ad Astra - Scipio and Hannibal - Vol. 12 Ch. 73 - Older and Younger Brother

Well, for something that happened 2 millenia ago, the extent of the support of the Carthaginian senate to Hannibal is still hotly debated academically. From what I read, there is some ( admitedly shaky ) evidence that, while the Carthaginian senate was not in love with the idea of another war...

Shingeki no Kyojin - Vol. 33 Ch. 133 - Sinner

@JianNg Well ... No . Hydrogen and oxygen need to be very well mixed and in almost perfect ratios to have an explosion in RL .Sure, hydrogen and oxygen burn quite hot ( and with a almost invisible flame ... you could easily put your hand inside a hydrogen fire without noticing it ), but they do...

Shingeki no Kyojin - Vol. 33 Ch. 133 - Sinner

@JianNg Yeah, even assuming the airships are filled with hydrogen, they would not explode even when stuck with a fireball unless you go stupid and make the balloon itself out of a flammable material ( even Hindenburg did not explode , it just burnt out and let the hydrogen out to a open flame...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 21 - Coward

@Pleppie Maybe ... we haven't seen any weak mages to tell the truth, demon, elf or human ;) But note that I was not saying it a unnatural feeling or anything wierd, just pointing out that mages in this setting had a tendency to be boastful of their powers and go always for a full power aproach...
