Just as an aside, Volume 7 of the LN (Kindle e-book in English) just came out a few days ago. I haven't had the time to read it yet but the previous volumes were already pretty good.

@EmperorOfSauce From context of the earlier chapter those spikes were probably made of ice not stone since "only their bodies in pools of blood and bigger pools of water" remained at the scene.
