Seeing a standard fantasy party not from the hero's perspective, or the side character's perspective or even from the weakest character's perspective, but from the sole survivor's perspective as she struggles to take her party members home is a tragic yet profound story.

Can think of two outcomes for telling someone to half die:
1 - random body parts stop working permanently, victim has to deal with it for rest of their life
2 - random body parts stop working permanently, unaffected parts are affected by dead parts, victim dies anyway
