@starburst98, for all we know, the wedding of their clan doesn't ask for consent like that. Plus, doing that if the wedding really is just a normal wedding, honestly is as selfish and destructive to their clan, if not more, compared to running away anyway.

I have the same reaction with Abel about Meya's species' biological weirdness.
