Far and away the most interesting and unique way to start a story like this. I think this is the only time I seen someone go out of their way to use a unique art style to begin.

I love that the passage of time is hinted at throughout the chapter such as when Frim grows up or the character's age. It's makes time passing more poignant than just saying it. There is a bunch of manga/series out there that just say 5000 years pass or 20 years pass. In those series, time...

What was interesting in the early chapters about Phos was the conflicting motivations he had. Now Phos is just a one note cardboard character.
