@TwEeD yeah, thinking about that while reading yer answer, I think this was a conscious choice from the author. If Rimuru had done this, he might have looked too cold-hearted to some readers, so instead of giving him the choice, it was left to the AI (Great Sage / Rapahel). On the other hand...

OH BOI IT HAS BEEN a while since fireworks in a story like this.

Here we are people. We are at the EndGame. Next chapter, the Battle Royale finally comes to and end. What an exciting journey has this been. But alas, all good things must end!

I have a hard time understanding what this manga is trying to be. Its not a uncommon concept, living after the isekai, but also has some odd dialogue, pretty Monogatari type with the main heroin. It is fun still, but I keep fearing it will shoot itself in the foot any moment.

Its a simple concept, but well executed. Right. Im sold.
