Well this was a ride. I came in expecting a cute, heartwarming story about a hapless single man taking in a young girl whom no one else wanted, and it was that and more for about the first half, which was stellar.

The weak should fear the strong.

Looks like JB pulled all their chapters both from Mangadex and their own site and turned their homepage into an FBI "This Domain Has Been Seized" image, although you can still access the reader directly without going through the homepage. My bet is an April Fool's joke.

@owlette I'm late to the party, but so far this manga reminds me a lot of https://mangadex.org/title/16443/takane-no-hana-nara-ochitekoi. It's not being scanlated anymore because it got licensed, however.

Good stuff. Fantastical shorts that are mostly comic but sometimes sad. "Space War" in particular is a scarily on point satire.

Something's up with the translation. It's definitely her ring finger she's missing, not her pinky...

@KinGrove: Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that reading the other stories would cast any more light on this one. They're all effectively independent, and inasmuch as the characters show up in the other stories they're only in minor roles, so there really is no more context to be had. But yeah...
