This generic tournament arc has been pretty terrible. Like 5 chapters and basically nothing has happened. There was the small bit about the childhood friend mages, but realistically everything that has happened in the last 5 chapters could have been done in 1.
Yea, I'm out. This just isn't interesting. It's not that all I want is fluff. A little bit of conflict makes the fluff feel fluffier. But this is full generic shounen.

Sigh a tournament arc. I generally have faith in the authors not dwelling on things like this too long, but I always worry that things like this will lead the story into a generic shounen.
This version is interesting. But I definitely like the other one better. The subtle differences in suspense building through scene selection are evident. I feel the other one says a lot more by saying less. I also prefer the other's art style. I'll probably still read both because we all need...
