Yikes. That detective is possibly the worst character in the entire manga. His entire schtick is "hurr durr all crimincals are trash no matter what". Not to mention he was forced in the story for the sake of replacing the antagonist.

Did the translators lost motivation? I don't blame them since it was going downhill for a while.

Now the score is below 7. Tbf It wasn't that bad but extremely disappointing since it had a great start.
