Which type of protag do you think is worse?

@IronDoge Nice jaded middle school essay. Did you crack that groundbreaking epiphany from your poetry diary or something? Next you'll be saying fiction is garbage because it's all lies, and none of it actually happened.

    Hottie of the Day

@pandascepter Yeah, that's me. Good eye. I'd post the Akko keyframe drawing I got as proof, but you'll just have to take my word (and this unrelated picture) for it.

    M.G.D. Manga idea

Sounds like Asuka's spec ops magical girls, minus the international politics. Honestly gritty mahou shoujo series have been cynically retread to such a degree that I'd much rather read a reconstruction over yet another deconstruction. Maybe with the more hopeful tone of something like Tiger &...

    Yofukashi no Uta

Kotoyama has finally struck gold with a story worth his art-style. Really enjoying this so far.

Tell us, what's bothering you ?

@gomichandesu We had a similar character at our workplace. Always the first to leave, taking twelve cigarette breaks per shift, winding people up and whining about the horrible mismanagement or tasks or pay or whatever. Heaven forbid though if he caught anyone else doing the same or disagreeing...

Action manga with a smart mc.

I'm reading Ajin right now, and it fits the bill for what you're looking for. Kingdom's a classic, and will keep you busy for a long while. Big mix of characters all along the various extremes of the smart/strong spectrum butting heads against each other trying to unify China, MC included.

    Maya-san no Yofukashi

I like the dynamic between these two girls, especially during that trip. They have a nice sort of earnestness between them.

Should I show my 13 year old nephew this site?

I was getting into anime and manga too at around that age. Content-wise, I wouldn't worry too much. Granted, even non-H content on the front page has a lot of smut/extreme series, with no way to filter it (he'd probably figure out how to bypass it too). Still, it's probably just gonna be a year...

Artsy fartsy tragic dramatic uncanny existential surrealistic moody angsty trippy traumatic

Behold, my artsiest fartsiest. Prologue Gymnopedies - A short story collection based on a record. Neat concept. Witches - Igarashi Daisuke might be artsy fartsiness incarnate, but this collection of witches from unusual parts of the world is well worth your time. Nekojiru's manga are the most...

    Favourite flamboyant guys in manga?

Akira from Kemono Jihen, if we're going for overly effeminate. He's right on the verge of being extremely insufferable and annoying, but is just over-the-top girly and helpless enough that he remains fun to follow.

    Number Girl - Vol. 3 Ch. 50

Tanigawa Nico's constant state of misery in their omake comments is something I always look forward to in each of their volumes. I'll be missing this series.

    Absurdist Manga?

Not too sure exactly what specific aspects of absurdism/existentialism you're looking for; they're broad enough that you could (incorrectly) twist many series into applying to them with enough mental hoops. I've heard people trying to inject existentialism in Black Lagoon of all things. Mono no...
