The quint's dad is very similar to the older Fuu. He does care for them but he doesn't know how to express his love or care. So, he does so in convoluted ways. But, unlike the old Fuutarou he does not know how to change this, while the current Fuu has found out how to.

p.s I can't wait to see the drama of this triangle blow up. I hope this arc does not have an anti-climatic conclusion because that wouldn't do any justice to any of the characters (in my opinion)
I really wanted Adam to win the first one. Don't get me wrong this is a great fight and all, the one who should have given the first glimmer of hope to humanity should have been the one who had given the greatest contribution to humanity
Still was a terrific fight with amazing art but Adam...
I love how this series evolves or, more properly, matures. in the beginning, they tackled the immature and lighter side of love and now it seems more adult in away.
side note: poor Isihgami was hooked on to her line and was not able to make the cut.
