@Ringz That's how it was in the original - not even an ellipsis at the end of the sentence. But I suppose, as they were taken back as suspects and witnessess and were adventurers from the guild, it's reasonable to suggest that they were sent by the greedy local feudal.

@Porg The pace is just a bit weird - the narration is skipping parts and then trying to explain it in a roundabout way. The guild master gave in because he didn't actually want to be a part of dirty schemes in the first place (he's sweating all over the place) and because the tone and the face...
