@diego I don't know if it's something that really happens in contemporary Japan, but it's a trope I see used a lot in manga with old and powerful families.

@Tatherwood sad truth. Now, there are series where the protagonist truly is too inept, but in a lot of cases the lack of progress is also (if not even mostly) due to the heroine.

@T51 that's one of the biggest problems I have with this series. With everything Kazuya did for her and everything they went through together, they should at least be at a stage where they think of themselves as friends.

This chapter was really good, but now I'm seriously worried for the next arc.

I was prepared to be disappointed, but the author always manages to surpass my expectations. An 8 chapter long date arc just for....nothing.

This is the series I always go back reading when I need a dose of wholesome romance.
