@shirovn Japanese culture strongly favors external locus of control, so in most Japanese isekais, powers are granted not earned. Compare that to Advent of the Archmage, where the MC has to earn or barter for everything he has whether it's powers, equipment, land, subordinates, money, etc.

Interesting concept but there are some major plot holes later in the novel. Author’s just making up some contrived half baked conflict. All of the characters, including the MC, are terrible negotiators. Especially for a production isekai.
