@nims @KakumeiNoHi I feel like you guys are misreading her here. It was pretty clear from the flashback that Shiho was uncomfortable with the idea of making advances towards Miwa as well as generally being uncertain about romantic relationships if not having a full-on "wait, am I gay?" moment...

This is like an anti-romance. An intimate look at a doomed relationship between incompatable people. Normally the 'will thay or won't they' thing is everyone waiting for them to get together but here I am going "Please, please just break up already."

@DrPavel In the end, Chainsaw Man isjust wasted potential. Fujimoto has a lot of skill with dialogue, relationships and when it comes down to it he makes very interesting characters and overall his plotting is serviceable enough but for every merit of his writing he consistently fails to stick...

I'm thankful this manga finally managed to sap all of the interest and enthusiasm I had in it and replaced it with frustration and apathy so that I know I won't find myself sticking around for Part 2.
