The mysterious ikemen must have taken some of his historical knowledge from otome games and/or sengoku shonen series, because his half-clothes exposing his gloriously chiselled midriff is silly as hell.

I know of modern fire pistons, but I'm unsure if a partially wooden/bamboo(?) one could take the pressures necessary to spark? Contemporary ones are metal piston and sleeve. Maybe there's a metal sleeve to match the piston in Shizuko's design?

I was really confused by the timeline here (because Sadao was so young before grannyloli died) but this makes sense in the end. I really thought she was actually a reincarnated Sengoku-era ojousama for some reason though. A cat makes more sense in hindsight.
