@alacaelum: Unless this setting's humanity is very backwards in military technology, they should be able to apply the MAD strategy to make the "war" much more limited than you'd usually think; I doubt even the likes of Lorem would be able to shrug off a nuke, especially since she got pretty...
@Swankeaboo: Ohta being surprised like he's shown to be in that panel would not make sense if it was Kashiwada that was visiting, though. You'd have to assume that he not only accompanied her to the lady's house (which he would, out of curiosity at least), but also didn't ask where she was...
Such a kind lady, to actually take the time and trouble to visit the neighboring town on a regular basis just so Kashiwada can see and play with the kitten.
I'm reminded of Yurippuru, where one time one of the two FMCs (it's yuri) insisting to her GF that they should fight so that they can make up, because she heard that it's a sign of a healthy relationship / makes their relationship stronger afterwards or somesuch.
