@TheAnnoyingBob That's just an assumption. There's no reason to believe he won't suddenly lose that "power" out of a whim of whomever gave it to him. Of course, because this is a story, we know that won't happen until he's at least confronted said person... But he doesn't know that

@Leonkristoffer Maybe it's not even that. It could be something even more childish as in the antagonist just wants to be a "king" and since he spawned in their territory, they just happened to become the ones brainwashed. Don't forget we're looking at an era where people didn't have explanations...
