I've kind of just always brushed it aside but the artist really struggles drawing distinguishing faces. It's really bad with the female characters but has started to get worse with the male characters. There is like a template of 3 faces they know how to draw.

I honestly really like this. It's isn't in your face and stretched out. It's to the point and fulfilling just like the rest of the series, just with slightly more drama and stakes. I know people were worried about the direction of the series but I think the author knows what he/she is doing.

The last like few chapters haven't been terrible but I honestly don't even know what I'm reading anymore. I really hope the next arc makes up for this mess or I'm just done with this series

My guess is these guys are previous disciples of his master and they are the reason for his masters warning about going to far. At least to the point of enjoying the pain. May never know with this awful pacing though.
