Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 24 - Elven Wish

@VINT64 "great accomplishments and acts of justice" might not be overly pompous, depending on the greatness of his accomplishments and acts of justice! It's likely Heiter realized the true potential Frieren had when he saw her in actual combat, where she had to unleash her mana fully. From...

Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf wo Yome ni Shitanda ga, Dou Medereba ii? - Ch. 27 - A Ship's Bridge Lightens the Mood (1)

@Kireato >baptised armour might very well simply refer to an object that was blessed through a religious rite It might work like that in French, but not in English.

Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf wo Yome ni Shitanda ga, Dou Medereba ii? - Ch. 27 - A Ship's Bridge Lightens the Mood (1)

@Kireato you can not baptize an object any more than a table can give birth. A baptism is a very specific rite that was developed in a very specific historical context; by being baptized, a person enters a covenant with god and has their original sin erased. An object cannot enter covenants; an...

Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf wo Yome ni Shitanda ga, Dou Medereba ii? - Ch. 27 - A Ship's Bridge Lightens the Mood (1)

Wasn't "baptized armour" called "annoited" in the previous chapters? It's a better translation, too - you can't baptize an object, and I'm not sure they have baptism in the setting to begin with.

    Dungeon Meshi - Vol. 10 Ch. 68 - Thistle

I feel that the maxim "Know this first: the daemon is a liar" answers all the doubts about the Winged Lion fully.

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 22 - Scales of Obedience

Tiny Frieren is cute. Also, could the spell simply be "Analysieren"? @SirAron that wasn't Power Word Kill. Power Word Kill is simply a word of power that slays the target. This here was clearly compulsion magic from a wondrous item; usually commands that might hurt the victim entitle to an...

Tate no Yuusha no Toaru Ichinichi - Vol. 2 Ch. 11

You know, after Dungeon Meshi, looking at food in other manga just doesn't quite do it for me...

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 19 - Ambush

@Trevoga I agree that the first arc was truly outstanding, while this second arc, ever since Stark's appearance, is merely good. Still, it makes for an entertaining read, and a story has to develop, it can't forever be dwelling in the same place and in the same tone.

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 18 - The Undead Army

I love the second frame in the 18th page where murder is spelled across Frieren's face in huge burning letters.

Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu - Vol. 13 Ch. 61.2 - Using Our New Weapons II (Part 2)

Alright, this is absolutely ridiculous on every level, the weakest miniboss fight I've seen in manga in a while. Slaughtering noncombatants, what could possibly be cooler? Only 100x200 scans, of course, to round up the experience.

@rinnba you're on that journey right now (allegedly).

Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 2 Ch. 12 - Northern Barrier

@Ryu12 well, the very founder of modern fantasy genre, Tolkien, surely did care. It's just that most of his modern successors are more concerned with the adventures of the body rather than the spirit.

    Heterogeneous Linguistics

@aihie people actually worked together a lot even before civilization. For what it's worth, even chimps in real life show more cooperation than monsters in the manga. Minding that it's mentioned that there used to be a war between humans and monsters, either there is (or used to be) some hidden...

    Sousou no Frieren

@NIB but that's the whole point, isn't it? You know about as much about the Hero's Party as Frieren herself.

    Dungeon Meshi

Not a great fan of the manga turning from gag comedy into yet another running of "Care Bears Find and Kill God", frankly. I mean, it's still very well made, the plot is solid so far, the characters get great development. But elves , is not something I signed up for when I started the manga...

Dungeon Meshi - Vol. 10 Ch. 65 - Rabbit, Part II

@ArtzarB elf souls be tasty, Slaanesh-certified @Siquall well the succubus chapter shows Laius is into Marcille, but she prefers the good Captain. @Migrad right? Their wishes are not mutually exclusive, the demon can drain them both! Or all, for that matter.

    Heterogeneous Linguistics - Vol. 3 Ch. 23

@Scytale traveling, especially traveling by sea for trade, was pretty common even in the Antiquity, much less the Middle Ages. Greeks and before them Phoenicians traveled (and settled) across the Mediterranean and Black Seas, and Romans had an empire from Britain to Crimea and Arabia, and traded...
