He probably already knows Mildred doesn't have servants; not a single one showed up when he arrived, no one attended them during the meal, and she said she cooked the meal herself. In hindsight, it should have come as a bigger shock to her daughters that she knows how to do housework at all.

Roteschu's son seems like a decent guy. If their circumstances had been different he probably would have married Rashta and had a family with her. I've gotten so used to seeing Sovieshu with a mustache in the intro image for each chapter that it's weird to see him without it. ^^;;
