How I wish I knew japanese...sadly I don't. :( There are also some other older manga from this author that aren't translated (yet).

@Purplelibraryguy: in fact I didn't tell you that you have to enjoy this manga DESPITE its flaws, but for its good qualities. Of course if you don't even like the art there's not much to do. I do like the art, because I like the author's style. Do I like the plot too? Probably it's too soon to...

@Purplelibraryguy well, I guess I can't (and don't want to) change your mind, I just think that you should enjoy the story and especially the art, more than judging the historical accuracy or if the characters behave according to the real rules of society at the time.

Anyway, regarding the historic setting, this manga surely isn't surely as historically accurate as "The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco, so... Even manga like Vagabond, who are considered masterpieces, aren't historically accurate AT ALL! In Vagabond a lot of things aren't only totally made up...
