Wow, that was a good ending! It’s so refreshing to see an ending that’s really an ending — so many series either get axed or just fall down on the last lap. And this was a 4-koma gag series, so it actually had a handicap in telling stories, too, so it’s doubly impressive.

Can't wait to see things get even more ridiculous.

Yeah, this is… basically an ending to this storyline, not to the series arcs. We don't get any resolution about what he does with himself, or whether his brain injury kills him, or anything like that… he just does this (which may end his career) and that's all.

So, a manga adaptation of the old movie Bringing Up Baby, in other words.

Now, see, that was the right way to end a series. Got the sendoff, plus a little bit of “what happened after that”, and a little bonus at the end. Good stuff.

Why is it that fun, unusual series with unusual takes on the standard tropes, like this one, get axed, and boring, predictable stuff that is full of cliche is permitted to go on and on for hundreds of episodes? It feels like it’s rare for a good series to actually reach a real ending.
