@COF: The physics are bs in terms of actual causation, but IIRC the phenomenon mentioned where gas is knocked out of the blood is actually a thing which happens. (It's kind of related to "the bends", the thing divers get if they surface too quickly.)

I was just looking through this again, and I realized that Nozaki's little brother is supposed to be a junior high. As in "he's probably no older than 14". Yet he (and his classmates) look like they're about 22.
