@EnderWin It's a common yuri/yaoi trope. And yes, it's quite jarring and immersion-breaking AFAIK. Edit: I take it right back (for now), the very next chapter briefly shows a gay couple, and one of Arisa's friends has a boyfriend.

I don’t wanna assume this is one of many extras to come only to be disappointed, so I’ll assume this is the end. And assuming that, it’s still a rushed AF ending... but it’s better than leaving the story hanging like with the previous chapter. At least they’re happily wed.

I've seen this kind of lore (ancient inhuman-beings fathering humanity and the consequences of their actions dropping on to the MCs) used elsewhere, but it feels extremely compact here. You'd expect something so alien to be drip fed more slowly so that we can take it all in at a reasonable pace...
