I think the story got overly complicated and lost focus in recent chapters. It had been an okay read up to that point.

I mean, this manga literally has 'slow life' in the title, so you might as well set your expectations as a slow paced manga.

Season 2 is coming in October, according to Leviatan Scans in their Discord channel announcement.

The original manga publisher is on a 2 month break to publish the paper edition (and probably also to take a vacation). They're up to Chapter 15 now, Chapter 16 will be released Aug 21st, someone created a link below.

I think manga chapter 49 roughly corresponds to: Volume 5 - The Crimson Exterminator, Chapter 2.
