Oh boy, this cult storyline is really starting to ramp up.

y'all seem to think that plastic gun barrels are far sturdier than the plastic vending machine coverings. Y'all could be right. On the other hand, stealing does seem to be brought up as an option, but it's dismissed as shooting the gun to break the front would draw tons of zombies.

Chinese cabs (from what I've seen) absolutely do drive crazy fast. But the thing is, everyone is predictable even though it seems extremely chaotic. It's just things like how mopeds will absolutely run a red light if you give them any space, and how cars will stop for jaywalking pedestrians so...

ahh, Araki. For all that BS you spouted about adapting and throwing your values out the window, you ended up being a big damn virtuous self-sacrificing hero.

I love how ambivalent he looks at the end, like... yeah, he did kinda save some people... by killing a bunch of other people. And sure, those other people were zombified, but they had an amount of pathos left. Is he a hero? Hideo doesn't look too sure.

Hmm... Hideo's audiovisual hallucinations have gotten better as he's been in more contact with Hiromi, but I like how we can see from time to time that they are still there, just on the brink of coming back full force.

do not agree wit sergeek. The killings are cool and visceral, but this story is built on longer-term stuff. Showing the zombies killing humans for a full five pages would just feel like filler. I mean, it's not that interesting: the humans freeze or fail to fight, the zombies get a good bite in...

@Killian_, you're making the very mistake that the comic is criticizing. The whole point of this entire goddamn story is that these kinds of rational plans are dumb because the people who make them tend to be Internet assholes who forget that living in the postapocalypse is a lot more difficult...

Dammit... the thing that's wrong with Suzuki is not that he's "a pussy" as several people across several chapters have been calling him. He refuses to take responsibility for his actions, he can barely see how his specific actions have contributed to shunting society and friends away from him...

He did a good deed, but no one was watching. The girl was probably so drunk that she doesn't even remember. Character is who you are in the dark, and all that.

Suzuki, at this point during his first (second?) act, is really getting to become a better person than he used to be. Just compare this version of him to the version that almost got a nosebleed at the prospect of a harem, or the version that thought girls were only attracted to wealth and power...

@Killian_ from what I've seen? No, it really really isn't. A lot of people just like seeing other people hurt, and feel that because life turned out worse than it "ought to", that the world as a whole deserves to burn. They don't connect their suffering to any specific wider system or ideology...

I just hope that Hideo doesn't go full Joel and kill a bunch of innocents because that's the philosophy he's adopted.

Our first insider look on the philosophy of a zombie. This is a pretty creepy take on it, I gotta say. So they're living in a sort of dream-fugue state... well, that just makes killing them kinda messed up and cruel and sad, all at once.

Ah fuck, Hideo broke his promise to Hiromi... She asked him to shoot her when she turned, and he agreed. Multiple times. But hey, what's a little lost honor in a time like this.
