I think she is a thief/rebel. It sounded like her group stole documents from the Baron in ch. 15 that proved he was embezzling. If I am correct, I imagine they believe the saint is evil and are trying to confirm/expose her.

Best plan ever, kill the new demon lord's family. I see absolutely no problems with that... well other than that could anger him, cause us to be seen as his enemy and then he completely destroys the country. That would never happen though.

Thanks for the translation, I prefer this one to the other translation. Both are serviceable, but this one just seems to make a bit more sense to me.

I hate the whole mind control trope, it's so overused. It's a way for lazy or bad writers to explain why someone all of a sudden changed their behaviour, that or a way to separate the MC from their friends/family. I really wish people would stop using it.
