@HermesPasser Apologies for the late 9 month later response, I hope you don't mind. Basically she was "polishing her gem", making her into a supposedly better exhibit. It's not logic that I and probably you would really understand, but it is pretty standard serial killer logic from what I know...

@relopokilolo Wait...what? The romance was "set-up" at the very start of the manga. The chapters before this only addressed and confirmed some of the feelings that have been there since the very start.

@Flintlighter16 @Forikorder Yeah it's pretty common for children to help out, even more so in certain countries. Chores and the like exist for a reason. She gets clothing, good food, and is highly loved. I very much doubt that she minds helping the professor out.

@yamigosaya Right? She's also 19. So I genuinely don't see what the big deal would be. A lot of relationships in life have some kind of age gap, 5-10 years is pretty common from what I've seen. It's usually only middle-highschool dating where you're going to be either the same age or within 1-2...
