Does anybody know what race/species the Marquis Cyberne and his soldiers are? They don't have any outwardly obvious demihuman traits and they can't be humans... Or is this just premise rot?

There's no indication of that. The next chapter's been up on Alphapolis since the end of June (their normal publication schedule). Uxtef is just taking a little longer than normal lately. I wonder why?
