@CSmith327 Sorry to hear about your job situation. I stopped working on this project immediately after the pandemic hit because I'm a nursing major and I had to sit and think life through about a few things. My brother was at the front lines in NYC when things were getting bad, and my...
@permisan I should have also said I meant that as of now, the ways you could "officially" read it involves reading outdated scan quality/bad localization which I personally think is a subpar experience overall. Especially if you're a newcomer. I do prefer the anime as a whole just because of...
@CSmith327 The people who scanned this years ago produced the best results within their capabilities, but let's face it, the typesetting and scans are really subpar. Comixology & Kodansha are also completely inept at producing a faithful translation/localization. I like Initial D, and even if I...
Kept you waiting, huh?
Yes, I know it took me a year to get back on this. Long story short, life got in the way with the pandemic and all that. Sorry about that, enjoy the chapter. I have some extra help now, so things should be a bit more consistent now.
@QSS Thank you for that write-up, that's extremely useful. The odd cropping is due to trying to crop the page itself as I was worried with chapter 1 I was cutting slightly into the art that borders the page. That's why it's slightly inconsistent in size.
I would attribute the paper texture to...
@QSS Sure will. Once again, thanks for the guides. Right now, I'm solely focused on practicing and refining my techniques until I fine tune the process as I go on. Of course, later on I'll go through my past work and update that as well. If you have any other general advice or recommendations...
@QSS Of course I don't. I'm not pretending to be a photoshop savant. It's a learning experience. While I do thank you for releasing the guides that helped make this possible, I'm gonna have to quote you: A good cleaner is one that knows what kind of tool is appropriate to use in what situation...
@bob3002 Yeah, not the best part. It's one of those things that you either love or hate imo. The art quality for the people kinda diminishes or takes a more grittier style later down the line and not everyone loves it either. Cars stay mostly the same however.
@leosmileyface The plan (currently, subject to change) is at least one chapter a week minimum. I want to be able to do 2-3 a week, ideally. I'm going to release chapter 2 and 3 simultaneously once they're complete, hopefully sometime this weekend/early next week.
For everyone else, as Hornet said, we do plan on redoing the entire manga. I came with a mission to release the "definitive" Initial D scan, and I wouldn't use the Project. D namesake if I were going to half-ass something like this. It does warm my heart that a lot of people appreciate this...
@hartex92
I don't have JLPT certification (although one day, despite my major I hope to get JLPT 1), so there's gonna be mistakes. We're trying to minimize them as possible.
The "dad's car" line is as long as you see it, is pretty much translated word for word to express Itsuki's disdain. The...
