@Widyanandarachmat from what I see in the manga it seemed that the childhood friend was quite surprised hearing the hero's demand. So I concluded that it was by force (hence, the term "stolen"..... or maybe there is another word that fits the condition, but I think betrayed is not the one)...

@Mewsthebest IIRC in LN version, the last scene where bakarina's harem saw geordo "is flirting" with bakarina (yeah more like he confessed to bakarina), the rest of the harem are furious and want to deal with geordo, of course this carnage also includes maria and for me that was so hilarious...
